Another video of Felix laughing…cuz who doesn’t need more baby giggles?

Felix has officially graduated from eating in his bumbo seat (due to increasing leg chub it is getting hard to extract him from it now) to a high chair. He’s still an eager beaver!

First time playing with his gator xylophone

Felix is definitely loving the rice cereal! This video was taken on Felix’s 3rd try with solids…he is so much more excited compared to the first attempt. He is so funny, leaning over with his mouth wide open…he has figured out how that spoon works real quick.

happy baby eating

Rice cereal is AWESOME!

Well, it’s not really that solid, but first time using a spoon! No funny faces or anything…

Waiting patiently for dinner

What's a turkey?!?

Felix talks about what he’s thankful for this Thanksgiving:

Felix loved his bumbo seat at school so much we bought one for the house too. I’ve been a bit behind on posts lately, so here’s a bunch of bumbo!

My favorite place to be!

A happy Felix in his daycare bumbo

Felix had his two-month checkup yesterday. He is now 13 lbs. 11 oz. and 24″ long! That puts him in the 100% percentile for weight (he’s actually above the 100% line), and 97% percentile for height. He’s gonna be a big boy! Not bad for a premie…he caught up real quick.

Even though he’s big for his age, developmentally he still lags behind a bit…that’s okay though because with premies you have to adjust your expectations and calculate his progress based on his due date, not his birth date.

His latest development is that he is finally seeing a bit farther and has discovered his crib mirror. He’ll now lay there and talk to the reflection! It’s a bonus for us because it keeps him busy for a bit, but we have to be careful not to leave him there too long because he’ll babble and kick himself into a frenzy. We’ve now learned to take the mirror down at night, otherwise he will wake up and then get rilled up looking at that “other baby.”

Normally Felix wakes us up crying in the usual baby way. However, every once in awhile he sleeps past his next feeding time and we get to wake him up gently.

We put him to bed swaddled up tight – it comforts him and helps him sleep longer – but he does enjoy a good long, squeaky stretch when we unwrap him!

Our first Felix sighting/sneak-peak. However, we didn’t have the name picked out yet….we had just found out we were having a boy. At this point in time – and until he was born since we wanted to keep our name choice a surprise – he was known as FazenBaby. We eventually settled on Felix because it means “happy, lucky and prosperous” and we thought it sounded good paired with Fazenbaker!
